Responsibilities
- Studies work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces and machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Operates primary and high-end machinery including set-up and complete program understanding with editing ability to produce complex, non-routine parts and components.
- Perform machining operations on CNC machine tools including shop floor programming and using such procedures as multiple setups, in place machining of fixtures, debugging first run programs and making or suggesting changes to machine tool program.
Requirements
- CNC Machinist Level 2 or 3
- Machine type Okuma, Fanuc and Okuma controls.
- Ability to set up and operate standard CNC lathes machines.
- Ability to understand Blueprints and GD&T.
- Fluent in using all types of measuring equipment from hand tools to CMM and Optical comparators.
- Read and understand G and M codes.
- Ability to perform simple program edits as needed.
- Must be able to set up complex jobs using work instructions or guides and work under limited supervision.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
