Job Description Ares is seeking a Senior Associate for our U.S. Direct Lending Special Situations team. The Senior Associate will be responsible for supporting control equity positions and workouts/restructurings within the U.S. Direct Lending portfolio ($193B in AUM). The role will provide the Senior Associate with significant opportunities for direct interaction with Ares senior leadership and portfolio company executives as well as long-term career growth. Primary Functions and Responsibilities: Financial modeling and analysis in support of active restructurings and equity-owned portfolio companies; experience in 3-statement operational modeling, liquidity analysis, and capital structure modeling preferred Supporting performance improvement efforts for owned portfolio companies Supporting due diligence efforts in support of active restructurings and owned portfolio companies Reviewing and negotiating legal documentation Communicating with management teams and advisors in connection with strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance to understand key trends and drivers of equity-owned portfolio companies Drafting and presenting Investment Committee memos to senior leadership Utilizing firm's proprietary software tools for company tracking
