Leading Hand - Civil

Responsibilities

• Leading and coordinating civil construction crews on site
• Supervising bulk earthworks, trenching and drainage activities
• Ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to specification
• Supporting excavator and plant operators with daily site activities
• Managing daily planning, pre-starts and on-site communication
• Monitoring compliance with safety, environmental and quality standards
• Assisting with hands-on civil works as required
• Required Skills and Competencies
• Minimum 5 years' civil construction experience, including supervisory/leading hand roles
• Strong experience in bulk earthworks, civil infrastructure and/or renewable energy projects
• Proven ability to lead crews and coordinate daily site activities
• Excavator or plant operation experience highly desirable
• Dogging, rigging, traffic control or spotting tickets advantageous
• Full C Class driver's licence at minimum
• Construction White Card
• Own vehicle
• Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical and police check

Job Description ACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, has been appointed network operator by EnergyCo to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network. The ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), the design and construct (D&C) consortium, will design and build the Central-West Orana REZ transmission project. The new transmission network infrastructure will deliver at least 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity from 2028 to connect 7.7 gigawatts of wind and solar projects, which is enough to power more than 2 million homes each year. Our Central-West Orana REZ Transmission Project is currently seeking an experienced Civil Leading Hand to oversee and coordinate field-based civil construction crews across access tracks and bulk earthworks. This is a remote project position operating on a 14 days on / 7 days off roster. Bus transport is currently provided from Sydney only, with various pick-up and drop-off locations between Sydney and the Mudgee region. Applicants located within NSW outside the Sydney transport route will be required to DIDO (Drive In Drive Out) at their own expense. Please note this is not a FIFO role, and candidates residing outside NSW will be required to arrange and fund their own travel to Sydney or the site if successful.
