Finance & Accounting Manager

About the role

Aspora is building a global financial operating system - and finance sits at the heart of that journey. We're looking for a Finance & Accounting Manager who brings both rigour and an operator's instinct to everything they do. This role owns the end-to-end finance engine: clean books, compliant structures, sharp MIS, and founder-ready financial narratives across India and global entities. You won't just report numbers - you'll help shape decisions, spot risks early, and build financial foundations that scale with speed. You'll work closely with the leadership team, operations, product, and people teams, translating financial data into clear business insight. From month-end closes to investor-ready reporting, ESOP accounting to global compliance - if it moves money, you'll be close to it. This is a high-ownership, high-trust role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, loves building systems from scratch, and wants to help create a company that lasts - not just one that grows fast.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Finance Engine : Own the full finance lifecycle, from daily books to investor-ready balance sheets, across India and global entities
• Operator-First Finance : Bring an operator's mindset to finance by translating numbers into real business decisions, working closely with founders to shape Aspora's future, not just report its past.
• MIS & Performance Reporting :
• Own monthly and quarterly MIS reporting
• Prepare cost-centre-wise and unit-wise P&L
• Build reports that are clean, timely, and insight-driven (not just numbers on a page)
• Statutory, Tax & Regulatory Compliance : Own monthly, quarterly, and annual Statutory filings, Direct & indirect tax compliance and Regulatory reporting across jurisdictions
• Cash Flow & Financial Storytelling : Be the go-to person for everything from tax compliance to cash flow narratives. If it moves money, you'll know about it.
• ESOP Accounting & Reporting : Own ESOP accounting, reporting, and reconciliations - ensuring clean cap tables and zero surprises.
• Reconciliation Master
• Own and master end-to-end reconciliations of all fund movements across geographies and entities.
• Ensure 100% accuracy in bank, wallet, gateway, inter-company, and ledger reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve variances proactively, ensuring clean books and zero leakages.
• Build robust reconciliation processes that scale with transaction volumes and global expansion
• Systems & Process Scaling : Set up smart, scalable finance systems, streamline workflows, automate wherever possible, and eliminate inefficient spreadsheets.
• Global Compliance Exposure : Ensure compliance across borders while maintaining startup speed and flexibility.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with product, people, and operations teams
• Continuous Learning : Stay updated on global finance trends, tax regulations, and automation tools. We're building global, not local-only.
• Financial Statements Preparation
• Prepare standalone FS of all group entities on quarterly basis
• Reconcile Intercompany movements on a monthly basis and ensure all cross charges entries are posted along with necessary documentation.
• prepare control FS on a quarterly basis
• What We Need :
• You're a qualified CA with 2-4 years of experience - bonus points if you've wrangled chaos in a startup or high-growth environment.
• You've owned global finance ops before - across currencies, compliance zones, and maybe even timezones.
• You speak P&L and cash flow fluently, but also know how to break it down for non-finance folks without spreadsheets catching fire.
• You've led month-end closures, statutory audits, and know your way around TDS, GST, ROC, and all the other acronyms that keep founders up at night.
• Fundraise-ready? Yes yes - you've built models, managed due diligence, and and kept your cool when the pressure was high and the data room demanding.
• You've worked on or managed ESOPs - you understand both the spreadsheets and the stories behind them.
• Comfortable with tools like Zoho Books, google sheets , Excel, and ideally some automation magic systems.
• Detail-obsessed but not a bottleneck - you know when to ship, when to double-check, and when to just move .
• You love the building process, but hate red tape. You'll help us build
