Make your mark in Auto and Transportation This role is focused on underwriting commercial auto and transportation risks within the casualty department. As a underwriting specialist, you will be responsible for driving profitable results within the commercial auto portfolio on a national level. Within scope for role will be interactions with various internal business units including other underwriting teams, claims, actuarial as well as external relationship management with brokerages and producers. As part of a small and specialized team, your efforts will be noticed as you play a significant role in the portfolio results and direction. How you will create an impact Underwrite Canadian Auto policies including Owned Auto, Non-Owned Auto, Garage, Lessor's Contingent and CGL policies. Responsible for analyzing the risk and ensuring compliance with Casualty underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements. Production of profitable new, and renewal business. Provide superior customer service to brokers, clients, and colleagues. Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with our broker partners. Participate in special underwriting projects as needed. Provide mentoring and training to underwriters. What you'll need to succeed 10+ years of experience in casualty and auto underwriting specifically Commercial Auto and Transportation risks. Knowledgeable on the transportation industry, litigation trends in Canada and USA. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service and negotiation skills. Ability to operate independently and collaboratively. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong decision-making skills. Ready to take your career to the next level? We would love to hear from you. The base salary range for this position is CAD $85,000-$118,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
