About the role
The Director, Talent Business Partners is a key HR leader responsible for aligning human capital strategy with business objectives across AvidXchange. This role leads a team of HR Business Partners, serving as a strategic partner to business leaders and the COO, who oversees 80% of the organization. The Director provides consultative guidance, drives HR initiatives, and ensures organizational effectiveness in areas including leadership development, change management, and employee relations.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of HR Business Partners, developing and implementing HR strategies that enable business objectives for assigned leaders.
- Participate in business planning to ensure proper talent structures, engagement models, performance management, and recognition systems are in place.
- Lead annual HR initiatives, including performance differentiation, compensation planning, goal setting, and development planning.
- Partner with business leaders to refine organizational structure, operations, and culture.
- Leverage HR data to influence decisions, support change management, and drive strategic alignment.
- Collaborate with Centers of Excellence to design and implement HR programs that deliver measurable business results.
- Provide objective guidance to leaders on business challenges, people implications, leadership effectiveness, and culture alignment.
- Track and translate industry trends into actionable HR practices to improve organizational outcomes.
- Deliver developmental feedback to the COO's direct reports and broader Customer Delivery Group leadership.
- Co-facilitate and support Diversity and Inclusion initiatives within the COO's organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
- 10+ years of human resources experience with proven expertise advising and influencing senior leaders.
- Progressive HR experience with a focus on building and developing HR best practices.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Experience in organizational development, change management, and employee relations.
- Exposure to Diversity and Inclusion initiatives within the last 3 years.
- Highly collaborative, action-oriented, and able to influence across a matrixed organization.
- Reputation for discretion, integrity, judgment, responsiveness, attention to detail, and common sense.
