Responsibilities

  • Lead technical reviews of customer contracts under ASC 606, including identifying performance obligations, allocating the transaction price, and determining the timing of revenue recognition
  • Document revenue recognition conclusions in technical accounting memos and advise Sales, Legal, and Deal Desk on non-standard contract terms
  • Research US GAAP and provide technical accounting guidance for revenue recognition matters across the business
  • Prepare and post monthly and quarterly revenue journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses
  • Support projects tied to the evolution and expansion of our route to market, including new product offerings, services, and pricing models
  • Participate in testing activities throughout implementation lifecycles, including user acceptance testing scoping, scenario definition, data validation, and execution of testing
  • Manage controls documentation, testing, and remediation in support of statutory and other financial audits
  • Work across NetSuite, NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management, Blackline, and Salesforce to execute close activities and respond to internal and external audit requests
  • Manage your own time and deadlines, accurately determine task duration and dependencies, and communicate status updates to your manager on a regular basis

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (equivalent work experience will be accepted in place of the education requirement)
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years focused on revenue accounting
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience applying ASC 606 to software, SaaS, or similar contract-based environments
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP, with proficiency researching authoritative accounting literature and performing technical analysis; strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft 365 suite
  • Practical knowledge of the role obtained through advanced education combined with relevant experience

Overview: You are an experienced Senior Revenue Accountant with 5+ years of accounting experience and deep expertise in revenue recognition under ASC 606. You will be a key member of our Corporate Revenue Accounting team, leading technical reviews of customer contracts so that revenue is recorded correctly under our policies. You will partner closely with Sales, Legal, Deal Desk, and Finance to evaluate non-standard terms, document conclusions, and drive consistent application of our revenue recognition standards. You will also support monthly and quarterly close activities and contribute to projects that grow our products, services, and pricing models. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, communicates clearly with cross-functional partners, and manages multiple priorities to firm deadlines. You will report to the Manager of Revenue Accounting and partner with cross-functional and global teams across the organization.
