Responsibilities
- Convene and steward dross-sector coalitions including K-12 systems, higher education, employers, workforce boards, CBOs and philanthropy to co-design education to career pathways.
- Facilitate community led-design processes that result in defined career pathways, aligned K-12, postsecondary, and workforce strategies, and clear roles for systems, employers, and community partners
- Cultivate and manage high-level relationships with community partners, organizational and business leaders, foundations, parents, students, and families to build their capacity
- Oversee early implementation of community designed initiatives (e.g., pilots, pathway launches, employer partnerships) connecting education to career pathways in partnership with TNTP teams and local leaders.
- Utilize data to drive strategic decisions and create high-quality, data-driven reports demonstrating progress toward education to career outcomes including access to advising, work-based learning, credentials, mentorships, and aligned pathways.
- Identify , develop, and engage volunteer leadership to build powerful grassroots campaigns that also create enduring power in communities.
- Identify opportunities to leverage TNTP's expertise within communities and lead implementation of education to career core services.
- The expected travel for this role is up to and including 40%. Given our clients are all over the country, some in cities and some in rural locations, all candidates must have a valid Driver's License ( reasonable accommodations are available for qualified individuals with disabilities ).
- WHAT YOU HAVE
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in workforce development and/or career and technical education with proven results and accountability
- At least 5 years of experience organizing and developing coalitions from the ground up, preferably in K-12 or higher education, workforce systems, or in another field with the goal of improving outcomes for students
- Experience designing or implementing education to career, workforce development, or postsecondary pathway initiatives.
- Ability to translate community priorities into scalable education to career strategies
- Experience implementing a range of organizing strategies and training and developing others in campaign and organizing activities
- Familiarity with or experience working in K-12 education, preferably in high-need contexts
- Excellent project management skills and an ability to work efficiently and independently and prioritize effectively.
- Adaptability in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment of rapidly changing priorities and tight deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Multilingual abilities are a plus; professional working proficiency in Spanish is preferred but is not required
