About the role
Part time: 21 hours a week Fixed term: 6 months The opportunity: Together we can do great things. Be part of something bigger. The Scottish Historic Population Platform (SHiPP) team are working to enhance the Scottish Historic Civil Registration data and provide a valuable research resource and data support service. Working within this small, collaborative team, you will be responsible for analysing and reviewing historic sources - including maps, archival materials, and online resources - to identify locations and help geo-reference the civil registration data. There may also be opportunities to contribute to coding of historical occupations and causes of death. If you have experience in using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), particularly QGIS, and an interest in investigating historic information, we would love to hear from you. The role is based at the Institute of Geography, Drummond Street with hybrid working available by agreement. People have always been at the heart of our work.
