Responsibilities

  • Capital Project Strategy & Portfolio Management

  • Project Delivery & Leadership
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of capital projects from concept through to completion.
  • Manage cross-functional teams, including engineers, contractors, and external partners.
  • Ensure all projects meet safety, quality, cost, and timeline KPIs.
  • Conduct regular on-site reviews to ensure effective controls and safe project execution.
  • Contractor & Vendor Management
  • Select, negotiate, and manage contracts with suppliers and construction partners.
  • Ensure all third-party work meets required safety and quality standards.
  • Oversee the Permit to Work (PTW) system across capital projects.
  • Lead contractor forums to drive performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Management & Communication
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across engineering, operations, and finance.
  • Provide clear and regular reporting on project performance, risks, and delivery status.
  • Support decision-making through data-driven insights.
  • Continuous Improvement & Capability Development
  • Identify and implement improvements in capital project delivery processes.
  • Promote best practices in project management and engineering standards.
  • Develop capability across the engineering team through coaching and training.
  • Capability Building & Training
  • Develop and strengthen project delivery capability across the engineering function.
  • Coach and mentor project engineers and managers to enhance performance and delivery standards.
  • Drive understanding and adoption of capital management processes across the site.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, best practice sharing, and high-performance project delivery.
  • Stewardship & Compliance
  • Ensure full adherence to financial, HR, and engineering policies across all capital activities.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory and internal audit requirements, including GMP and business system audits.
  • Own and drive the site capital controls framework, ensuring robust governance and consistency.
  • Lead the annual asset verification process , ensuring all assets are accurately recorded and aligned with financial policies.
  • Partner closely with Finance to ensure all project controls, including asset tagging and financial close-out, are completed accurately and on time.
  • Qualifications & Experience
  • Essential
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • Significant experience managing capital projects, including leadership responsibility
  • Proven track record delivering complex, high-value projects
  • Strong financial and budget management capability
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering, construction, and contract management
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with project management systems
  • Preferred
  • Experience in regulated environments (e.g., Pharma, FMCG)
  • Strong collaboration skill
