About the role

As a Counsel, you will serve as a full performance level attorney who reports to the unit's Assistant Director. You will perform complex legal work which influences the operation of national banks, federal savings associations (FSA) or internal CCC operations. This position will be located in Washington, DC under the Litigation unit of Chief Counsel's office. You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-V band level or GS-13 Grade Level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: Experience conducting legal research and analysis, preparing legal memoranda, drafting briefs, engaging in civil discovery, and appearing before courts or tribunals in civil or administrative cases; and Experience in one of the following subject matter areas: banking or financial services law; administrative law including legal challenges brought under the Administrative Procedure Act; or personnel law, including in cases pending before district courts, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, or the Merit Systems Protection Board. AND Must be an active member of the bar of a State, U.S. commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
