About the role
As a Test Equipment Technician at Allegro MicroSystems, you will be responsible for the maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of specialized semiconductor test systems. Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Automated Test Equipment (ATE) in both a lab or production environment.
- Manage the calibration schedule for laboratory and production instrumentation (Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Power Supplies, etc.) to ensure compliance with quality standards (ISO/IATF 16949).
- Maintain accurate logs of equipment repairs, maintenance history, and spare parts inventory using our internal tracking systems.
- Work closely with Test Engineers and Production Supervisors to minimize equipment downtime and support "One Allegro" productivity goals.
- Diagnose Troubleshoot & Repair Test equipment failures
- Communicate and coordinate with external venders for RMA's and Product support
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) prevention and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Electronic Technology, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. (Equivalent military technical training is also highly valued).
- 1-3 years of experience in a semiconductor test or electronics manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in using basic hand tools and electronic measurement equipment (Multimeters, Oscilloscopes).
- Ability to read and follow Manufacturers manuals and Internal test procedures
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills for working with global engineering teams.
- Experience with specific ATE platforms (e.g., Teradyne, Fluke, or Cohu).
- Previous experience in Metrology field and Metrology software ( e.g. MetTeams / MetCal)
- Basic understanding of scripting or software tools used for equipment automation.
