Description of Work This position is located at Maury Correctional Institution in Hookerton, NC. Maury CI is a close and medium custody 1,000 bed facility for adult males. This position will report directly to the Correctional Associate Superintendent V. Specific responsibilities include: - Ensuring the safety and security of housing male offenders at a close and medium custody correctional institution and ensuring the safety of staff and the general public. - Working closely with supervisors to provide guidance and direction on prison policies and procedures. - During any extended period of absence of the Warden and Associate Warden V, this position will serve as the facility head. - Manage the total custody section, including the food service operation and provide for the safety and security of the facility. - Reviews all incident reports, assigns and reviews internal investigations, conducts critical internal investigations, reviews offender requests and responds appropriately, and assures that the personnel resources are allocated for the maximum benefit of the facility. - Handles special assignments as assigned by the Warden and is the Safety Manager of the facility. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Salary Grade Range: $55,221.00 - $96,639.00 To be considered for a Correctional Associate Warden/Correctional Assistant Superintendent III position, ALL applicants must: Meet Criminal Justice Standards requirements (12 NCAC 09G .0302) Pass a criminal background check Produce a negative drug screening result Successfully complete medical and psychological evaluations Possess a valid driver's license.
