About the role

You will serve as a ACCOUNTANT in the NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND ATLANTIC of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND ATLANTIC. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Demonstrates expertise in analyzing federal accounting systems (FIS 2.0, STARS-FL) and financial data to resolve significant accounting challenges, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements; 2) Functioning as a key technical specialist, providing accounting services and interpretation for audit readiness initiatives and the application of accounting principles across multiple systems; 3) Assist with the development of process maps and narratives to trace financial transactions from inception to the Statement of Budgetary Resources (SBR), clarifying the linkage between accounting events, business cycles, and required audit procedures; 4) Utilizing knowledge of NAVFAC ATLANTIC business and processes, ERP system, User Management, SharePoint, and other systems related to Financial Management; and 5) Familiar with the business line/directorate and HQ business process and requirements on automation process and effort that need to be followed.
