Responsibilities

  • The Construction Coordinator will support project managers and PMO by coordinating construction work performed by external contractors and inhouse tradespeople, technicians and other staff.

  • Assist with the creation of schedules and look ahead for workers and subcontractors
  • Assist with execution of risk assessments and inspections to ensure compliance with WorksafeBC, EGBC, and TRIIUMF technical and safety standards and operational requirements
  • Assist project manager with required project procurement process by estimating, finding and contacting suppliers, placing orders and issuing purchase orders
  • Assist project manager with required permitting (in house or outside), required inspection, and measurements
  • Perform hands on technical tasks and use of basic tools as required. Approximately 10% of role, tasks include light construction or other technical work including site preparation and maintenance, and assisting other tradespeople and technicians

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Construction Coordinator will assist the Project Managers in handling job site activities, reviewing site conditions, supporting the field staff with scope execution and oversight in compliance with construction documents and additional tasks as they relate to on-site work process. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: The Construction Coordinator reports directly to the Director, Project Management and takes instruction on a day-to-day basis an assigned Project Managers from the Project Management Office (PMO).
