Excavator Operator - Civil

Responsibilities

• Operating excavators for bulk earthworks, trenching and civil construction activities
• Performing clearing, grading, and drainage works
• Excavation for trenching and pipelaying works
• Working in partnership with ground crews and spotting personnel
• Maintaining safe operating procedures around plant, personnel and services
• Assisting with installation of infrastructure such as fencing and crossings where required
• Conducting pre-start checks and basic machine maintenance
• Required Skills and Competencies
• Minimum Skills and Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years' experience operating excavators in civil construction
• Experience in renewable energy projects highly desirable
• Relevant plant and machinery tickets/licences (excavator ticket essential)
• Additional tickets (dogging, rigging, traffic control, spotting) highly desirable
• Full C Class driver's licence at minimum
• Construction White Card
• Own vehicle
• Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical and police check

Job Description ACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, has been appointed network operator by EnergyCo to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network. The ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), the design and construct (D&C) consortium, will design and build the Central-West Orana REZ transmission project. The new transmission network infrastructure will deliver at least 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity from 2028 to connect 7.7 gigawatts of wind and solar projects, which is enough to power more than 2 million homes each year. Our Central-West Orana REZ Transmission Project is currently seeking experienced Civil Excavator Operators to apply their expertise across access tracks and bulk earthworks. This is a remote project position operating on a 14 days on / 7 days off roster. Bus transport is currently provided from Sydney only, with various pick-up and drop-off locations between Sydney and the Mudgee region. Applicants located within NSW outside the Sydney transport route will be required to DIDO (Drive In Drive Out) at their own expense. Please note this is not a FIFO role, and candidates residing outside NSW will be required to arrange and fund their own travel to Sydney or the site if successful.
