Responsibilities

  • Support the Network Planning & Regulation, Licence & Revenue, Regulatory Reporting Team to ensure SP Energy Networks fulfils its annual, and at times ad hoc, regulatory cost reporting obligations, mainly significant RRP reporting pack to Ofgem.
  • Support planning, execution and reporting of progress against the regulatory cost reporting programme for all Directorates.
  • Support compliance with Regulatory Instructions & Guidance (RIGs) contained in the Licence and Ofgem's Data Assurance Guidance (DAG thereby mitigating risk of Ofgem investigation, improvement action or, at worst penalty from misreporting.
  • Support peak period workload planning, over the annual reporting period between April and July.
  • Support regulatory interface with Ofgem, DESNZ and other external regulatory bodies for regulatory cost reporting obligations across SPD and SPM.
  • Support ongoing quality improvement initiatives to development, modify and enhance existing robust data capture and reporting processes. Implement additional quality assurance to ensure ongoing compliance with reporting obligations.
  • Prepare overviews and critique of the overall regulatory cost performance of the Directorates for senior management.
  • Establish and build relationships under the organisational structure that ensures ongoing compliance with new and existing regulatory obligations.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels both orally and in writing, and present information effectively, including the specialist knowledge relating to Ofgem RIGs and DAG.
  • Forge strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure our systems and processes develop, align and deliver future data requirements for all reporting obligations.
  • Continue the development of system driven reporting which is in line with the expectations of the Regulator and builds on the implementation of the NAMS reporting solution.
  • Cultivate effective working relationships across the SPEN business while providing support to directorates which ensures annual performance is understood, and that risks are effectively managed.
  • Organise your own workload over a 12-month planning horizon, setting overall annual objective whilst managing frequent requests from across the business requiring regulatory expertise.
  • Information management including input to presentations and responding to requests for information from the wider business and Executive Team.

Requirements

  • Able to understand the strategic objectives of SPEN to deliver changes as required by the dynamic. regulatory framework.
  • Experience working in a regulatory environment, with experience of influencing external and internal stakeholders.
  • Support change successfully in a complex business.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience within a business reporting, planning or project management function preferable.
  • Developed communication skills with the ability to influence.
  • Expert user of MS Office suite, specifically in Ms Powerpoint, MS Excel, with MS Access experience preferable
  • To be successful, as a minimum you must demonstrate:
  • Degree level qualified in finance, accounting, engineering or other STEM field.
  • Proven experience in a regulatory environment.
  • Expert user of MS Office suite specifically in MS Excel.

A Senior Analyst within the Regulatory Reporting team will support the management of SPENs regulatory reporting programme including Annual RRP submissions: this includes quality control of output (timely, accurate and complete), compliance with Ofgems Regulatory Instructions and Guidance (RIGs), Data Assurance Guidance (DAG) and business performance reporting. The postholder will also ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders (Ofgem) and implement efficient end to end engagement, preparation and communication during consolidation and submission of all regulatory cost reporting.
