Position Description: The University of Louisville is seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable coach to join our Division I Swimming & Diving program. Based on experience and qualifications, the successful candidate will be appointed as either an Associate Head Coach or Assistant Coach, depending on experience and qualifications. This position reports directly to the Head Swimming and Diving Coach and plays a vital role in supporting the program's competitive success, student‑athlete development, and operational excellence. Associate Head Coach The Associate Head Coach plays a critical role in all aspects of the program, operating with defined autonomy while sharing key responsibilities with the Head Coach. Areas of shared oversight include recruiting, coaching tactics and strategy, budget management, practice planning, fundraising, fostering a culture of compliance, and additional administrative responsibilities as assigned. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Coach: Develop skills of student-athletes; plan, prepare, and conduct individual and team practice sessions to train and prepare for competition, and instruct student-athletes in techniques of the sport. Prepare and analyze scouting reports on all opponents to develop game plans and strategies for each competition and for championship meets. Assist the Head Coach with meet scheduling to ensure the program is positioning itself at the highest competitive level each year, with the goal of securing ACC and NCAA championships. Assist the Head Coach in overall budget management of the program. Additional duties may include: Serving as the lead recruiter for the program, developing and executing a recruiting strategy for the program. Ensuring academic metrics (e.g., APR, GSR) are met. Developing a time management plan for the program and tracking accordingly. Assist in managing scholarship allocation and roster management. When applicable, attend Head Coach meetings; participate in and represent the program during ACC conference calls and meetings. Promote an atmosphere of compliance within the program through strict adherence to NCAA, ACC, and university rules and regulations through monitoring of program activities, active involvement, and commitment to continuous rules education, timely submission of compliance-related documents, and immediate reporting of any knowledge of potential rules violations involving self or others. Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
