- Either 2+ years of relevant industry experience coupled with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or 4+ years of experience and Associate Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or 6+ years equivalent experience without a degree
- Senior Engineering Tech
- Either 4+ years of relevant industry experience coupled with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or 6+ years of experience and Associate Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or 8+ years equivalent experience without a degree
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Experience in the utility industry
- Able to effectively apply basic principles of project management
- Experience using Maximo/BOUD
- Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
- Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Passing grade on the Engineering Fundamentals Exam.
- Department specific experience applicable to the hiring department.

The position supports storms in both the Triad Area and may be required to travel to other locations within the Duke Energy Systems and off-systems sites. Engineering Technologist III is the third level of the non-Engineer degreed technical support role job classification. Engineering Technologist III provide technical expertise to solve more complex problems and leadership skills to provide oversight and direction of work in a specific area of expertise, with limited supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with a high degree of independence. Senior Engineering Technologist is the fourth level of the non-Engineer degreed technical support role job classification and considered the career level for the job hierarchy. Senior Engineering Technologist provide technical expertise to solve more complex problems, and leadership skills to manage work in a specific area of expertise, with minimal supervision.
