About the role
We are looking for a meticulous and motivated Finance Executive to join a financial reporting team supporting a portfolio of research institutes. At the heart of this role is grants accounting - you will manage the full grant utilisation process, ensuring grant income is accurately recognised against expenses incurred, while also supporting month-end and year-end closing, intercompany reconciliation, and statutory audit activities.
Responsibilities
- Grants Accounting & Utilisation
- Post and review grant utilisation entries on a timely basis, recognising grant income to match expenses incurred across all allocated research institutes
- Ensure accurate and compliant accounting treatment for all grant-funded activities
- Maintain well-organised grant records and documentation to support reporting and audit requirements
- Month-End & Year-End Closing
- Perform timely month-end and year-end closing of accounts for an allocated portfolio of research institutes
- Prepare and follow up on monthly accounting schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Review closing entries and ensure all accounts are properly reconciled before finalisation
- Financial Statements & Consolidation
- Support the consolidation of accounts to produce mid-year and year-end financial statements
- Assist in the preparation of statutory financial reports in accordance with applicable standards and timelines
- Intercompany Reconciliation
- Handle intercompany confirmation and intracompany reconciliation processes
- Follow up proactively with counterparts to ensure timely resolution of reconciling items
- Audit Support
- Support audit fieldwork by responding promptly to auditor queries and providing required documentation and samples
- Ensure records are well-maintained and readily accessible for audit exercises
- Ad-hoc Support
- Assist with other grants-related finance tasks and projects as assigned
Requirements
- Singaporean Only
- Diploma or Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experienced with SAP S4 HANA is a strong advantage
- Prior exposure to grants accounting, fund-based accounting, or research sector finance is highly advantageous
