About the role

The Engineering and Test Directorate at Stennis Space Center is seeking an individual to serve as the Chief of the Test Support Division. You will be responsible for leading a team of Engineers and Technicians in the execution and support of the center's primary line of business: Rocket Propulsion Test. NASA utilizes OPM-approved qualification and rating requirements specific for Aerospace Technology (AST) positions which recognizes NASA's unique aerospace work. The specific qualifications and minimum education requirements are further described below and within the education section of the job announcement. To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level: Leading or supervising teams comprised of both engineers and technicians in the execution of rocket propulsion test or test support activities; Leading change efforts related to cost reduction, process improvement, enhancing capabilities, or developing efficiencies in support of NASA mission requirements; Communicating project status, risks, and decisions to leadership and stakeholders.
