Requirements
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 5+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
- 5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Amazon is hiring a highly effective Finance Manager to partner with the Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) lab in San Francisco on building practical AI that can actually do things for us and make our customers more productive, empowered, and fulfilled. The role will be the local CFO with daily interactions with leaders from science, software development, and product teams. This team is really excited about the work in combining large language models (LLMs) with reinforcement learning (RL) to solve reasoning and planning, learned world models, and generalizing agents to physical environments. If you want to apply your financial acumen to deliver insights and drive high-velocity decision making to help shape how AI agents perform real-world actions, learn from human feedback, self-course-correct, and infer our goals then this role is for you! A successful candidate will love to learn and be curious and dive deep to understand and identify business trends, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve and prioritize. Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as the ability to work autonomously with a proven work ethic and track record of delivering results.
