Brief Summary: The Optical Lens Engineering Assistant supports manufacturing operations, request-for-quotation (RFQ) activities, and continuous improvement initiatives for optical lens production. This role is responsible for sustaining manufacturing engineering processes, coordinating First Article (FA) activities, maintaining and updating SAP data, supporting tooling design and process development, and ensuring production readiness through effective cross-functional collaboration. Job Description: 1. Technical Support: Assist manufacturing engineers in troubleshooting production issues and implementing solutions. 2. Documentation: Help prepare and maintain technical documentation, including process specifications, work instructions, risk assessment and retrospective. - Review and update Material Master (MM) and Bills of Materials (BOM) - Test glass list preparation and follow-up fabrication progress - Provide lens drawings for outsourcing and intercompany manufacturing sites - Create FMEA, risk assessment report for high visibility projects. - Design and develop manufacturing tools, fixtures, and jigs - Develop Manufacturing Process Plans (MPP) - Create and maintain production routings - Initiate and coordinate Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) - Support product costing activities and variances - Monitor tool dressing activities and tooling performance - Monitor and report First Article progress and status - Conduct post-project reviews and capture lessons learned 3. Process Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives, such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma projects, to enhance productivity and reduce waste. 4. Data Analysis: Collect and analyse data related to manufacturing processes to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. 5. Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the scheduling and documentation of equipment maintenance and repairs. 6. Support quality assurance activities, including inspections and audits 7. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, and QC, to ensure smooth operations. 8. Project Support: Assist with specific engineering projects, including prototype development and product testing. 9. Inventory Management: Aid in monitoring and replenish inventory levels and items.
