Are you a skilled Technical Artist with a passion for asset creation and integration in engine, with a strong artistic eye? VOLTA is seeking a talented individual to join our team in Quebec. Key Responsibilities: Provide technical support to the art team with tools and game engine Integrate character and prop assets in game engines and/or proprietary tools Work closely with Project Managers and IT team on collaboration and version control software such as Perforce Review 3D assets for their technical compatibility and compliancy to all the guidelines Coordinating with team members from different time-zones Maintain, Integrate and improve technical pipeline for asset creation Create technical documentation and training for artists on the production pipeline Creating 3D Props/environment assets as per art direction Create technically compliant assets Creating tileable and unique textures using Substance Painter / Designer Integration of Substance Designer materials into Unreal Requirements: 5+ years of experience as a Technical Artist, with a focus on prop creation, texturing and integration Solid understanding of Unreal Engine and Unity Strong expertise in Unreal Engine 5, including hands-on use of systems such as Lumen, Nanite, and Blueprint scripting At least one shipped AAA title Proficiency in industry-standard art tools such as Maya, Substance Painter, Substance Designer and Zbrush Proven ability to build, maintain, and optimize tools and workflows in Autodesk Maya (Python and/or MEL) Solid experience working with procedural and material pipelines using Houdini and/or Substance 3D Designer Strong understanding of real-time constraints and optimization (performance, memory, scalability) in environment production Demonstrated ability to support and collaborate with art teams, translating artistic goals into efficient technical solutions Environment-focused experience (materials, shaders, world-building workflows, asset integration) Quality-first mindset with a strong artistic eye for realistic visuals Solid understanding of character rigging and skinning Strong problem-solving skills to address technical challenges efficiently Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Strong art background and passion for hand painted texture is a big plus Basic knowledge of programming or scripting for shader and/or tool creation is a big plus Additional Requirements: Availability for full-time work (40 hours/week) Located in Quebec City/Montreal or willing to relocate to either Able to work physically from our studio in Quebec City or Montreal Salary Range: $60,000-80,000 CAD Why Volta Work on high-profile AAA projects across a variety of styles and partners A collaborative, no-ego environment focused on quality, clarity, and follow-through The opportunity to shape teams, pipelines, and creative direction in a growing studio Backed by Keywords Studios-global scale, with local autonomy A supportive culture that values both craft and people Benefits Paid vacations: 3 floating weeks + 1 week during holidays (studio closure) 8 statutory holidays Other benefits: Full insurance coverage 5 paid sick days Social club Employer's contribution to RRSP (retirement plan) after one year in Canada This is a hybrid position (from Montreal and/or Quebec City), however it's currently open to candidates residing in the following Canadian provinces only: Quebec.
