The Semester of Service Program offers students a volunteer project-based opportunity to support real Federal missions, gaining hands-on experience and career-ready skills. Students must be enrolled at least half-time in an accredited trade school, technical/vocational institute, junior college, college, university, or other accredited educational institution. With this opportunity you will be supporting a communications-based project. Applicants will be assessed individually based on the knowledge, skills and abilities related to the project. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to: Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Research, collect, organize, and summarize information from multiple sources. Work collaboratively with team members, customers, or stakeholders. Prepare reports, presentations, spreadsheets, or other written materials. Use common office automation software such as Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook), SharePoint, or similar collaboration tools. Maintain accurate records and organize files or project documentation. Analyze information and identify inconsistencies or areas requiring correction. Manage multiple assignments and complete work within established timeframes. Present information or findings clearly to individuals or groups. Learn new systems, procedures, and processes in a team environment.
