Seek creative solutions to business problems utilizing statistical modeling techniques and business knowledgeEffectively gather and compile data required to solve business problems of the following nature: retention, growth, profitability and competitive positioningWork closely with business unit and corporate underwriting to seek input for implementing new rating structures or changes to current rating algorithmProvide technical support within unit to non-actuarial staffPresent & interpret rate indications for relevant products and provinces to non-technical audiencesConduct and organize meetings with business units on project follow-up and soliciting business input to help establish business needs and translate it into IT requirementsDevelop and maintain tracking reports to measure the level of success of new rating structures. Fine tune new rating structures based on tracking and feedback from businessMay develop reports needed by senior management and underwriting to monitor progress in improving profitability and implementation of businessEducation and Experience:University / College degree in Actuarial SciencesMust have successfully completed a minimum of 2 CAS examsProperty & Casualty experience; Must have 3 years of actuarial pricing experience, with a preference for individuals who have experience with Commercial pricingMust possess strong programming skills, including knowledge of SAS/R and efficient use of Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Knowledge of French (verbal and written) considered an assetInterested in a career in a company where collaboration and diversity of expertise are at the forefront? As the Actuarial Analyst, you will support the objectives of the business using advanced analytics and teamwork. Reporting to the Director of Pricing and Underwriting, you will work as an ambassador of the Commercial Pricing unit at Mississauga's office being the link between local Business unit and the unit based in Quebec City. Strong leadership, communication and dissemination skills are of utmost importance.
Salary Range: $78,874 - $140,126/year *This represents the expected hiring range and may not represent the full pay range for the position. The salary offered may be higher than the posted range depending on several factors such as relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
