Your Impact at LILA Lila Sciences is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer II to join our Advanced Engineering Team to design, develop, and optimize electromechanical systems. This role bridges hardware, software, electrical, and controls to deliver intuitive, high-performance automated solutions. What You'll Be Building Write control software to coordinate sensors, actuators, and motion systems into cohesive automated solutions Develop HMI/GUI interfaces for operator interaction and system monitoring Prototype and build test jigs and fixtures to de-risk designs and optimize system performance Program and tune servo drives, actuators, and sensor feedback loops Create control algorithms and logic for automated equipment Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams What You'll Need to Succeed Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering 3-5 years of relevant experience Experience with HMI development platforms Proficiency with version control systems, especially Git & Github . Proficiency with C/C++ and Python, or similar languages Experience with microcontrollers (STM-32, Arduino, Raspberry Pi) Experience with rapid prototyping techniques Experience specifying and integrating sensors, motors, drives Understanding of analog signal types (4-20mA, 0-10V) and discrete I/O Thrives in a hands-on prototype heavy environment Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills Bonus Points For Understanding of machine states, control theory and PID tuning Experience or familiarity with PLC based systems Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, RS-232, OPC/UA, MQTT) Experience or familiarity with CAD software (Solidworks, Creo, Siemens NX) Experience working directly with end-users to develop requirements
