The National Director, Patient Education Liaison (PEL) will build, lead, and develop a field-based team responsible for supporting patients and caregivers from prescription through treatment initiation and beyond. The PEL team serves as a trusted educational resource while also helping patients and families navigate access-related challenges that may delay or disrupt treatment. Working closely with healthcare providers, Patient Services, specialty pharmacies, Market Access, and internal cross-functional partners, the PEL team helps ensure patients understand their therapy, know what to expect throughout the treatment journey, and receive timely support when barriers arise. This leader will establish the vision, strategy, capabilities, and performance standards for the Patient Education Liaison organization while creating an exceptional experience for patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers. Primary Responsibilities Build and Lead the Patient Education Liaison Team Build, lead, and develop a high-performing field-based team of Patient Education Liaisons. Establish the strategy, operating model, performance expectations, and development plans for the organization. Create a culture aligned with Praxis values of Trust, Ownership, Curiosity, and Results. Recruit, coach, and retain exceptional talent. Enhance the Patient and Caregiver Experience Develop and execute strategies that improve patient and caregiver education, confidence, and treatment readiness. Ensure consistent, high-quality patient engagement across the treatment journey. Oversee the development and implementation of patient education tools, resources, and support programs. Utilize patient and caregiver insights to continuously improve the experience. Support Patient Access and Treatment Initiation Lead a team that helps patients and caregivers navigate access-related challenges that may impact treatment initiation or continuation. Partner with Patient Services, specialty pharmacy partners, healthcare providers, and Market Access teams to facilitate timely therapy initiation. Establish processes for identifying, escalating, and helping resolve patient-specific barriers to treatment. Monitor patient onboarding and treatment-start trends and provide insights that improve the overall patient journey. Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration and Operational Excellence Partner closely with Medical Affairs, Patient Services, Market Access, Commercial, Compliance, and Advocacy teams. Represent the patient and caregiver perspective in organizational decision-making. Collaborate on launch readiness activities, patient support initiatives, and field execution strategies. Ensure all patient-facing activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations. Establish quality standards, documentation practices, and operational processes that support consistent execution. Qualifications and Key Success Factors Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in nursing, healthcare, life sciences, business, or related field preferred. 8+ years of experience in patient services, patient education, field reimbursement, nurse education, specialty pharmaceutical field roles, healthcare, or related functions. 5+ years of leadership experience managing field-based teams. Experience supporting patients with specialty, rare disease, neurological, epilepsy, or movement disorders preferred. Experience supporting patient onboarding, therapy initiation, reimbursement support programs, patient access, or patient services functions. Strong understanding of specialty pharmacy, patient support programs, and common barriers to treatment access. Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams. Ability to travel as needed.
