This temporary position is located at 2787 Caledonia Drive Tillery NC -Halifax County with the Department of Adult Correction- Correction Enterprises. Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $35.00. (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. Management Preferences: Job duties and responsibilities include: This position will train, manage and supervise 12-15 offenders and staff for the purpose of constructing modular or tiny home at Correction Enterprises' Roanoke River Farm. Working knowledge of repair, maintenance and construction techniques and of the tools, methods, practices, materials and equipment used in the building and mechanical trades. Working knowledge of building codes and all other rules and regulations governing repair, maintenance and construction of facilities. Ability to perform journey level work in a variety of trades and to read schematics and blueprints. Ability to train, direct and supervise subordinates and to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Minimum Education and Experience Some state job postings say you can qualify by an "equivalent combination of education and experience." Necessary Special Qualifications May require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by 40 CFR part 82, subpart F.
