Responsibilities
- Macro Analysis & Strategy: Conduct ongoing macroeconomic research and develop trading strategies on key markets (e.g. G10, Asia ex-China Macro). Monitor global policy shifts, data releases and geopolitics, generating timely market commentary and actionable trade ideas.
- Client/Sales Collaboration: Work closely with the sales desk to align macro views with client needs. Respond to client pricing requests and tailor solutions. Build relationships with institutional clients by delivering market insights.
- Book and P&L Management: Oversee the trading book for assigned currencies and rates, including daily P&L; sign-off. Ensure accurate trade execution and reconciliation with operations.
- Infrastructure: Support the build-up of risk management system for G10 and Asia ex-China Macro. Maintain knowledge of internal pricing models. Strive for continuing enhancement in the overall risk management framework.
- Regulatory and Controls Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all regulatory and internal controls in every trading activity. Support post-trade processes and promote strong risk management and ethical trading practices.
- Qualification:
- Experience: 5-15 years of FX and rates trading experience in a sell-side bank environment.
- Experience in the buy-side is an added advantage. Proven track record in discretionary macro trading or market-making.
- Market Expertise: Deep understanding of FX and interest-rate products, including spot/forward FX, NDFs, government bonds, swaps, and derivatives. Familiarity with G10 and/or Asian EM markets.
- Bachelor's degree required; technical degree preferred. Strong proficiency with Bloomberg/Refinitiv, Excel/VBA, and preferably Python/R.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills with English Fluency, independent decision-making, ability to work under pressure, strong organization, and integrity.
- Regulatory Awareness: Good understanding of MAS rules, global macroeconomic risks, and bank compliance frameworks.
