Partnering closely with Outside Sales, project teams, and customers, you'll evaluate opportunities, develop accurate and compelling plumbing estimates, and translate technical scope into clear, customer-friendly quotations. Your market insight, plumbing expertise, and data-driven estimating approach will directly influence win rates, margins, and long-term customer relationships. You'll serve as the go-to expert for plumbing pricing strategy-balancing speed, accuracy, and value-while delivering a best-in-class customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Outside Sales and internal stakeholders to evaluate bid opportunities, plumbing scope, and project feasibility.
  • Prepare detailed, accurate estimates for commercial and mechanical plumbing projects.
  • Perform thorough plan, specification, and plumbing takeoff reviews to identify risks, efficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities
  • Clearly communicate plumbing estimates and assumptions to customers, answering technical questions and building trust
  • Maintain organized estimating documentation, historical pricing data, and bid records to support fast, reliable quoting
  • Partner with operations and project teams to review post-award performance and improve future plumbing estimates
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating tools, templates, metrics, and best practices
  • HOW SUCCESS IS MEASURED (METRICS)
  • Estimate accuracy (estimated vs. actual cost variance)
  • Bid hit/win rate on commercial plumbing opportunities
  • Gross margin performance on awarded plumbing projects
  • Quote turnaround time and on-time bid delivery
  • Change order frequency tied to estimating gaps
  • Customer and sales team satisfaction with estimate clarity and responsiveness

Requirements

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration mindset
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple plumbing estimates simultaneously
  • Solid project management, prioritization, and deadline-driven execution skills
  • Confidence interpreting plumbing drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical data
  • Customer-first approach with the ability to explain complex plumbing concepts in simple terms
  • YOUR BACKGROUND
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred
  • Estimating experience in commercial plumbing or mechanical systems strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of commercial plumbing systems , materials, codes, and applications
  • Experience estimating for a plumbing contractor, mechanical firm, or engineering environment preferred
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills

  • Attendance - Ability to maintain the scheduled days and hours, including onsite presence at the assigned location as specified.
