Construction Project Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Project Accountant to oversee the financial administration of active projects from start to finish. This position partners with project managers and operations teams to maintain accurate job costs, process billings, manage subcontractor documentation, and support project financial performance. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.

Requirements

• Previous accounting experience is required
• Experience in construction accounting or project accounting is strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of job costing, project billing, accounts receivable, and financial reporting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience using Viewpoint/Vista or similar construction accounting software is preferred
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project and operations teams
