Position Status: Full time Shift: Variable Less than 12 hour shift (United States of America) Hours per week: 40 Job Information Exemption Status: Exempt A Brief Overview Works closely with surgeons in providing patient care in both a hospital and office clinic setting. This position assists CVT surgeons in providing patient consultation and evaluation; assistance with surgical procedures in the operating room and other locations; coordination of admissions and discharges. This position is also responsible to provide documentation of services provided in compliance with established medical records, medical staff and billing procedures. The delivery of professional nursing care at Stormont-Vail HealthCare is guided by Jean Watson's Theory of Human Caring and the theory of Shared governance, both of which are congruent with the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Reporting to the APP Manager, the Lead Advanced Practice Provider is a full time clinical position responsible for direct oversight of daily operations for their assigned area. In collaboration with the Medical Director, this position will coordinate the daily activities necessary to ensure service line coverage needs are met in clinical care areas. In addition to scheduling oversight, the Lead APP will serve as the clinical expert to facilitate efficient and high quality care. Education Qualifications Master's Degree Required Must be a graduate of an accredited PA/APRN program. Meets educational preparation or other qualifications within specified time frames as determined/outlined by specific department policy. Experience Qualifications 5 years Direct related experience Preferred 2 years Clinical experience as an APP in a related department Required Experience in cardiovascular patient care Preferred OR First Assist experience. Preferred Endovascular vein harvesting experience. Preferred Skills and Abilities All APRN incumbents are required to maintain Registered Nurse competencies as designated by Federal and State organizations and as outlined in SVH policy. Licenses and Certifications Registered Nurse - KSBN Must have valid APRN licensure. Be certified as a nurse practitioner by a recognized national certifying body that has established standards for nurse practitioners. Required or Physician Assistant (PA) - KSBHA Required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 4 months of hire date. Additional certification may be required in certain patient care settings or populations. The department director will provide specific information and the time frame in which such certification may be attained at the time of hire/transfer into department.
