The Sr. Director, Responsible AI Lead will be responsible for IT strategic planning, analysis and execution of IT functional plans to ensure growth and performance aligns with the organization's strategic intent. The Sr Director will lead enterprise efforts to scale Responsible AI and AI governance capabilities through strategic planning, operating model design, automation, and cross-functional execution. This role will partner with AI Engineering, data science, Legal, Risk, Compliance, and business stakeholders to embed governance, controls, observability, and evidence generation into AI workflows and tooling. The leader will help establish a scalable AI enablement model that improves traceability, audit readiness, risk-based decision-making, and business adoption across the AI lifecycle. How You Will Make an Impact: - Lead the development and execution of enterprise AI enablement strategies that align Responsible AI, AI governance, technology, risk, and business priorities. - Partner with AI Engineering, data science, model governance, Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to embed governance controls into AI lifecycle processes and tooling. - Drive scalable operating models for AI oversight, including tiered review, self-attestation, evidence generation, and targeted controls. - Identify and lead automation opportunities across Responsible AI processes, including audit support, AI content governance, desk reviews, and augmented validation support. - Strengthen model inventory, metadata, traceability, and reporting practices to support audit, regulatory, and enterprise governance needs. - Translate complex AI governance, technology, and risk concepts into executive-level recommendations, reports, and decision materials. - Monitor AI, regulatory, technology, and business trends to inform enterprise planning and investment decisions. - Develop multi-year plans, performance measures, and business cases that demonstrate alignment to corporate, CIO-level, and enterprise AI strategies. - Partner with senior leaders to prioritize strategic initiatives, assess resource needs, and advance a consistent enterprise AI governance and enablement framework. Minimum Requirements: Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 10 years of experience in Data Collection and Analysis, IT Consulting, IT Performance Management, Strategy or Financial Planning, Business Intelligence and Analytics, or Business Process Design; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences: - Experience leading enterprise AI, Responsible AI, AI governance, data governance, model governance, or technology risk programs strongly preferred. - Strong understanding of AI lifecycle management, model inventory, metadata, controls, observability, evidence generation, and audit readiness preferred. - Experience partnering with Legal, Risk, Compliance, technology, and business teams to operationalize governance frameworks preferred. - Experience with AI regulatory expectations, NIST AI RMF, risk-based controls, or related AI governance standards preferred. - Proven ability to lead cross-functional enterprise initiatives, influence senior stakeholders, and drive execution across complex organizations preferred. - Experience identifying automation opportunities and improving governance processes through workflow, tooling, reporting, or analytics preferred. - Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex technical, risk, and governance topics for senior leadership preferred.
