Software Engineer, IAM

About the role

Identity and Access Management team is responsible for creating a secure, reliable and seamless Identity Management Platform for all the Postman users. This is the team behind authenticating and authorizing every request that reaches Postman space. Postman's Identity Interface is the gateway to access a plethora of Postman's services while enabling users to connect with peers to perform work collaboratively. A team of passionate engineers where each day brings new learning.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain features, improve performance and quality of Postman's products
• Interact with Product, Design and Engineering teams to spec, build, test and deliver new features
• Improve quality and reliability by improving existing tests and writing new ones
• Work on the scalability aspects of features and services that collection team owns.
• Work with the manager for the roadmap and SLAs for the micro-services that you own.
• Perform code reviews and advocate better practises for software engineering by mentoring and encouraging others around you to build a quality product.
• About You
• You have at least 3 years of experience developing complex, distributed software applications at scale.
• You've experience with high level programming languages - e.g. Node.js, Python, Ruby, Go.
• Strong understanding of web fundamentals.
• Experience with cloud computing and distributed systems
• You possess strong Computer Science fundamentals - Algorithms, Networking and Operating Systems, and are familiar with various JavaScript tools, frameworks, and development practices.
• Has a point of view and is comfortable and prior experience in collaborating and respectfully challenging other stakeholders, such as PM, EM etc.
• You write testable, maintainable code that's easy to understand.
• You have curiosity about how things work and to learn new things.
• Good written and verbal communication.

Requirements

• Previous experience with systems with scale and familiarity with problems related to scalability and performance
• A learning mindset and the willingness to do beyond what's being told.
• An innate curiosity about how things work under the hood.
