Scope of Position The EHS Generalist is responsible for implementing existing company EHS programs and ensuring regulatory compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental, occupational health, and safety regulations, coordinating with the leaders and workers throughout the organization. They will also provide administrative and technical support in the coordination and completion of all company health and safety (EHS) programs. This position reports to VP, EHS. This role is onsite and is based in Reno, NV at our Haws manufacturing facility. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities Work with manufacturing leaders to develop and implement programs to maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with EHS regulations, policies and procedures. Input incident reports as well as compile and track all incidents/accidents, and OSHA recordable incidents into Gensuite. Conduct worker risk assessments, including safety and occupational health, with emphasis on eliminating or reducing potential hazardous conditions. Review incident and accident reports to determine measures needed to prevent recurrences, including root cause analysis. Identify EHS training needs, conduct and oversee training, and ensure maintenance of the company training database. Support an effective safety committee with clear goals and objectives. Provide guidance to employees filling out incident reports and near-miss forms. Communicate with EHS Supervisor of any new incidents/near misses. Conduct ergo analysis of workstations and work with associates on risk reduction measures. Deliver training across all EHS programs, including new hire orientation, respirator use, hazardous chemicals, proper lifting techniques, emergency response, Hot Works, Lockout/Tagout, Forklift, PPE, Confined Space, Respirator, Harness / High Work, Contractor Safety, etc. Prepare and submit recertification of environmental permits Complete quarterly safety training sessions will all employees for OSHA compliance Coordinate layered 5S and safety audits on the shop floor. Provide administrative support in preparation for any state and federal audits. Perform routine housekeeping to ensure area operates within parameters that conform to environmental and safety standards. Required Qualifications Associates degree or higher in related field or 5+ years related experience and/or training OSHA 30-hour training completed First Responder certified Industrial/Manufacturing EH&S experience Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Strong problem-solving skills Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory authority, including: EPA, OSHA, DOT, and familiarity with Federal, Machine Gauding, GHS, Confined Space Entry, Crane Safety, Forklift Training, and LOTO General Applicable Company Competencies Commitment to Watts' values of integrity, accountability, continuous improvement and innovation, and transparency. Working Conditions While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site at a manufacturing facility and will perform the majority of your duties in an office environment. You may, at times, be required to be present on the manufacturing floor and will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. You will be required to work in the office and be present on the manufacturing floor at the Sparks, NV location (Monday - Friday). Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.
