Additional Information

Job Description Summary The Military DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. Separating Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time with approved industry partners after unit commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval. GE Aerospace as a SkillBridge partner offers real-world training and work experience in in-demand fields of work while having the opportunity to evaluate the Service member's suitability for the work. Military DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from GE Aerospace, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members. Job Description The Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leader for Electrical Power Systems Engineering will be responsible for leading a cross-functional team to design, develop, and deliver advanced electrical power systems for ground vehicle and aerospace applications. This role requires a strong technical background in engineering, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex projects from concept through production. Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and set of structured processes. All activities consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users' needs. The discipline executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve desired outcomes. You could be a strong military fit for this role if you worked with aircraft/ship/vehicle electrical power systems (converters, inverters, power distribution, avionics power), led projects that integrate multiple disciplines, or mentored engineers or technicians and briefed leadership. Roles and Responsibilities: Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and other professionals to achieve project goals. Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision. May manage functional teams or projects with varying levels of complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view. Ensure all project activities adhere to safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) standards, with a primary focus on safety. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans in coordination with project managers. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members, stakeholders, and external partners. Oversee the design, development, testing, and validation of electrical power systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
