As a CNC Roll Grinder Operator at Valmet you will work to set up and operator all roll grinders, making the required adjustments and roll alignments. In addition, you'll be required to perform bearing assemblies on all roll types enabling the set-up for the grinder procedure. The position has the responsibility for all minor machine repairs/adjustments including the performance maintenance assigned to machinery, making all requests for repair and service through the preventive maintenance system. Expectations To excel in the role you should have a knowledge of machine tool and fabricating operations as well as a strong mechanical aptitude will ensure success for this position. In addition, you should have the ability to translate prints and instructions into a finished quality roll product (rough to finish grind). You will need a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) along with strong mechanical aptitude. Must have the ability to understand, follow instructions and complete tasks. Must be capable of wearing and using other safety equipment as required. Good understanding of measuring instruments and capable of taking accurate measurements to check and perform job functions. Previous CNC experience is required.
