For more details, please visit https://www.piramalcriticalcare.com/global/ Job Title Production Supervisor - Day Shift Job Description The role is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of chemical manufacturing processes during assigned shifts. The position ensures compliance with safety standards, production targets, and cGMP requirements while supervising operators, coordinating maintenance activities, and maintaining accurate production documentation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities First line responsibility for the safe operation of chemical operations, the manufacturing process, and all operations, maintenance, or work taking place during their shift Direct the appropriate response to a safety incident or other emergency until the emergency chain of command arrives Reinforce and ensure plant safety practices and maintain a constant alert for hazardous conditions on a daily basis Lead or participate in Incident and Discrepancy Investigations as necessary Responsible for the proper issuance of any work permits, including Lockout/Tag Out Keep Production Supervisors and Management informed regarding the state of operations and production needs that must be addressed Address substandard performance in a fair and timely manner Ensure efficient operations to meet production demands and schedules Lead improvement projects within the plant Maintain organization and cleanliness of the production floor Identify when modifications to SOPs are necessary for safety reasons, quality concerns, or operational efficiency Identify and potentially assist with maintenance repairs Responsible for daily scheduling and maintaining vacation time records for operators on the crew Assign overtime as required to meet production requirements Communicate with vendors for ordering, pick up, and delivery of materials Train operators on proper operation, maintenance, safety procedures, system set-up, and housekeeping requirements for assigned tasks Ensure proper production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers Ensure accurate production logs are maintained daily, including an accurate shift supervisor log of all events occurring during the shift Coordinate with Manufacturing and Maintenance personnel regarding maintenance work required on equipment Review manufacturing batch records to ensure completeness and accuracy before submission to Quality Assurance Drive cGMP standards within the Manufacturing area including training of operators Work with QA and QC to ensure processes and materials meet all quality specifications Lead SFTI and 5S efforts in the Manufacturing area and support associated projects and improvements Key Competencies (knowledge, skills, and abilities every person must possess to be successful) Critical Thinking - using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor to interface effectively with internal and external customers Excellent verbal and written communication skills Creative and able to present various solutions Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational disposition Ability to maintain confidentiality Coaching skills Additional competencies reflected in the role: Strong troubleshooting skills Commitment to safety and environmental standards Ability to multitask, evaluate available resources, and delegate duties effectively Education/Experience Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a chemical plant operator Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a floor supervisor in a plant environment High School Diploma required; college degree preferred Mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance Familiarity and operating experience with production processes Good written and verbal communication skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
