Responsibilities

  • The Quality Process Technician will support the analysis and solution of quality problems, processing/disposition of non-conforming material, preparation of inspection plans and instructions, training of inspectors under the direction of quality engineers or supervisors (if applicable).
  • Lead/support/assist Quality/Warranty Supervisor and Engineer in continuous improvement of Quality process, including performing audits, validation calibration compliance and creating Quality documents in alignment with QMS/EQMS requirements.
  • Assist with Field Service Actions and with the warranty claim processing, as needed.
  • Develop and maintain robust quality processes, consistent with Eaton Quality System, ISO, and Eaton Lean practices by creating Standard Work, Work Instructions, Operator Method Sheets, workmanship standards, 8D's and Line Alerts and training operators for same.
  • Support during the creation/review pFMEA's and control plans.
  • Perform FTY/Rework and root cause analysis, plus create corrective/preventive actions as required.
  • Act as an ISO Lead Auditor: Conduct quality audits of equipment and processes, coordinate audit schedules and manage & maintain internal audits & corrective action database.
  • Assist on audits with internal or external customers (requirements criteria) to help ensure quality and continuous improvement of products. Product audit development, training others and backup
  • Adhere to Quality Control Plan compliance verification, including Crimp verification, if applicable, and Tooling/Gage calibration compliance for area assigned.
  • Work with manufacturing area for improvements to lead 8D/error proof teams and defects analysis. Drive FTY/Rework issues to closure for continual improvement.
  • Perform measurement systems analysis consistent with Eaton Quality System requirements.
  • Follow up product and process deviations to ensure proper communication and adherence.
  • Support material incoming inspection, as needed.
  • Prepare and communicate End of Shift quality report.

Requirements

  • Basic (Required) Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in an engineering or related discipline
  • A minimum of three (3) years of quality or engineering technician experience in an electrical manufacturing environment

  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of El Paso, TX (50 miles) will be considered for this position.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Five+ years of quality or engineering technician experience in an electrical manufacturing environment
  • Position Criteria:
  • Intermediate understanding of problem-solving methods-i.e. Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis, and the associated statistical tools to analyze problems, evaluate and complete improvement projects.
  • Basic knowledge of ISO, Quality Management System and Six Sigma.
  • Intermediate knowledge of process auditing techniques to ensure compliance to defined quality requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge of gauging and inspection techniques
  • Intermediate problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Training and experience with quality assurance concepts, Error Proofing, Problem Solving, MSA's, Capability Studies, PpFMEA's, Control Plans, ISO 9001, dimensional analysis, auditing and Supplier Quality Management.

  • Possess a sound working knowledge of PC software programs such as MS Excel, Word, Power Point and Minitab.

Additional Information

Eaton's ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Quality Process Technician (PCD). The core hours are 7:00am to 3:45pm. The hourly rate for this position is $23.92/hourly per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only.
