Great Waters Federal is recruiting for the position of Journeyman IT Governance Specialist located in the National Capital Region or available for remote assignment. The successful candidate will maintain organizational governance frameworks, oversee policies and compliance standards, ensure operational conformity with regulations, manage documentation, and deliver strategic guidance to strengthen accountability and reduce risk. Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to : Coordinate IT governance activities such as integrating board processes, updating governance frameworks, and supporting compliance initiatives. Lead meeting logistics, agenda planning, and follow-up communications. Develop and refine documentation, implement process improvements, and assist in stakeholder engagement to advance enterprise technology objectives and maintain effective controls. Support the transformation and operations of IT Governance. Work with IT Governance Team to refine and enhance IT Governance Board (ITGB) strategy, processes and activities. Work with IT Governance Team to update and Integrate CR processes and procedures with broader IT Governance. Assist with redesigning the Architecture Review Board (ARB) and implement automation. Work with IT Governance Team to refresh DMCC processes in conjunction with new IT governance. Integrate governance board processes by collaborating with cross-functional teams to align decision-making structures and ensure effective governance across IT initiatives. Update governance frameworks by reviewing current policies, recommending improvements, and implementing revisions to strengthen organizational controls and compliance. Support compliance initiatives through monitoring regulatory requirements, assisting in audits, and facilitating internal training to maintain adherence to industry standards.
