About the role

Assists a licensed pharmacist, as directed, in compounding, preparing, packaging, labeling, and dispensing of both hazardous and non-hazardous pharmaceuticals to fill valid prescriptions or medication orders. Requirements

  • Required Education and Experience
  • Certification Requirement
  • National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or ExCPT from National Healthcareer Association (NHA) required.
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with NYS Office of the Professions, State Education Department.
  • Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of six (6) months of full-time pharmacy assistant or pharmacy technician experience.
  • NOTE:
  • Incumbents must maintain the required New York State registration and national certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) as a condition of continued employment.
  • Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
