The Role: Smith-Blair, a Xylem Brand, seeks to hire a Production Line Worker to work in various manufacturing production roles such as assembly lines, machine operators, material handlers, fabricators, etc. Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities: Must be a team player that exhibits excellent communication/interpersonal skills; motivated to work in a highly participative environment and understand and believe in the Lean Manufacturing Principles (5's, single piece flow, KanBan, etc.). Must have general overall knowledge of Smith-Blair's Saddle Fittings product manufacturing process. Must be capable of manually assembling and packing full circle and pipe repair couplings. Must be capable of operating manual and pneumatic hand tools. Must be proficient at operations requiring continual eye-hand coordination for manual repetitive operations to correctly assemble parts to meet established standards. Willing to learn all skills within the steel fabrication manufacturing work cell. Capable of working extended hours to meet customer demands. May be required to rotate to other job functions within the same labor grade as directed by their supervisor. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Must self-inspect their products to maintain quality and quantity standards. Keeps work area clean and orderly and maintains proper care of equipment. Must perform any other duties as assigned by their supervisor. Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent GED required. Manufacturing/production experience desired but not required. Forklift operation experience desired but not required.
