About the role
This position involves operating a 24/7 Registered Power Plant and associated equipment along with operating and maintaining various systems throughout the hospital including HVAC, fire and sprinkler systems, Building Automation Systems, Pneumatic tube system, etc. and respond to various emergency after hours calls. He/she is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the heating, cooling, emergency power generators, boiler and facility water testing and operating/maintaining related equipment for the Power Plant and hospital. He/she will be responsible for various aspects of preventative maintenance and repairs within the Power Plant and hospital as directed by the Power Plant Supervisor or Manager of Facility Operations. WHAT YOU BRING: Minimum grade 12 education Certification as 3rd Class Stationary/Power Engineer. Certification in Building Environmental Systems (BES) I or II would be an asset. 5 years experience as a Stationary/Power Engineer 3rd Class. 5 years experience with Hospital Building Systems including Fire Alarm and Building Automation Systems (BAS). Strong mechanical skills and mechanically inclined.
