This is a classified position, and rules of the position are governed by State Civil Service. Requirements

  • Two years of experience or training in the installation or maintenance of pneumatic, electrical, or electronic control systems for heating (including boiler), ventilating, or air conditioning systems.

  • Job Duties
  • Performs troubleshooting, maintenance, and basic repairs on HVAC, boiler, chiller, and control systems including control valves, thermostats, pressure switches, flow switches, fire detectors, relays, smoke detectors, and pneumatic control instrumentation.
  • Conducts routine inspections and preventive maintenance of boiler and chiller rooms, including blowing down boilers three times per week, identifying leaks or operational issues, maintaining cleanliness of mechanical areas and laydown yard, and performing minor equipment repairs as needed.
  • Assists with the maintenance, repair, and installation of building automation and energy management systems, including supporting contractors with Metasys System operations and control valve installations.
  • Uses schematics, vendor manuals, and diagnostic tools such as volt-OHM meters, pressure and temperature gauges, and manometers to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation issues.
  • Responds to daily work order requests and participates in an on-call rotation every 5-6 weeks to provide emergency maintenance and operational support for HVAC and control systems.
  • Performs additional maintenance, repair, and operational duties as assigned to support facility and utility operations. Other duties as assigned.

  • Work Schedule: Work hours are 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday. On-call every 5-6 weeks.
  • Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. The approved hiring range is $21.05-$29.47.
