Application Engineer - Optics/Photonics

About the role

Roles & Responsibilities: Function as a specialist in the use and application of ANSYS Photonics solutions - Lumerical/ZEMAX Lead in coordinating and executing all technical activities throughout the sales opportunity such as customer meetings and product presentations, demonstrations and evaluations. Create and demonstrate simulation solutions to streamline customer workflows, in support of the software sales process Work collaboratively with customers to ensure their successful use of ANSYS Optics/Photonics products and develop/strengthen long-term relationships with customers Seed opportunities to expand software usage or cross sell during customer interaction Work independently to analyze technical needs, requirements, and state of a customers' current Infrastructure, operations, and engineering workflows Guide customers right from problem definition to problem setup, solution, visualization and interpretation, in order to improve customers' productivity and satisfaction. Deliver Consulting projects/ training classes on Optics/Photonics simulation Other duties as assigned Desired Candidate Profile: Bachelor, Master or PH.D. degree in Physics or engineering discipline with strong fundamentals in Photonics and optics. Fresh graduate can apply. Demonstrated use of relevant commercial software to solve real-world engineering problems in optics or photonics is a plus Engaging personality, engineering curiosity and willingness for continuous learning Ability to work independently, as well as with others in a diverse team environment Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to facilitate and conduct webinars and presentations to customers Demonstrated skills in writing and presenting in fluent English Logical problem-solving approach and the ability to clearly communicate the situation and proposed solution to the customer Projects a professional image and strong business acumen during customer interactions Possesses a sense of urgency, strong organizational and follow up skills Ability to travel up to 30% The Benefits: Challenging job within a young and dynamic team.
