Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Master's preferred)
  • Current, unrestricted RN registration with the applicable provincial body
  • Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role (LTC or healthcare setting)
  • Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations and best practices
  • Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
  • Experience driving quality improvement initiatives and achieving positive outcomes
  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and related technology

  • $110,000.00 - $140,000.00

Job Description Role Description: Director of Care Please note this is temporary position for 3 months Mission As the Director of Care, you will contribute to Extendicare's purpose of Helping People Live Better by leading a high-performing team dedicated to ensuring residents receive the care they need. The Director of Care (DOC) is a skilled and compassionate leader who oversees the delivery of exceptional, resident-centered care in a long-term care home. The DOC manages all aspects of care operations, ensuring best practices aligned with Extendicare standards, accreditation requirements, and provincial regulations. Leading and inspiring an engaged team is essential to achieving an excellent resident experience. Building strong, trust-based relationships with residents and families is also key to satisfaction and fulfilling our mission to provide care wherever people call home.
