Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Master's preferred)
• Current, unrestricted RN registration with the applicable provincial body
• Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role (LTC or healthcare setting)
• Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations and best practices
• Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
• Experience driving quality improvement initiatives and achieving positive outcomes
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and related technology

• $110,000.00 - $140,000.00

Job Description Role Description: Director of Care Please note this is temporary position for 3 months Mission As the Director of Care, you will contribute to Extendicare's purpose of Helping People Live Better by leading a high-performing team dedicated to ensuring residents receive the care they need. The Director of Care (DOC) is a skilled and compassionate leader who oversees the delivery of exceptional, resident-centered care in a long-term care home. The DOC manages all aspects of care operations, ensuring best practices aligned with Extendicare standards, accreditation requirements, and provincial regulations.
