Responsibilities
- Support the preparation of Cost Benefit Analyses for retail investment projects, contributing to the evaluation of proposed initiatives
- Build and maintain financial models in Excel, including discounted cash flow analysis (IRR, NPV, and payback) with guidance from senior team members
- Assist in developing multi-year forecasts and cash flow projections based on key operating and capital assumptions
- Analyze financial performance and key drivers of returns through scenario and sensitivity analysis
- Prepare reporting, commentary, and presentation materials to support senior leadership discussions and investment decisions
- Support the refinement and updating of financial models as project assumptions, scope, and timelines evolve
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to compare actual performance against forecasts and identify key variances and learnings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Real Estate, Operations, and Business Units, to gather inputs and support analysis
- Contribute to ad hoc financial analysis to support team and leadership requests
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial modelling, forecasting, and reporting processes, including leveraging automation and emerging tools
- Build foundational skills in financial storytelling and presentation, with opportunities to contribute to and gradually participate in senior forums over time
- What You Bring:
- University degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline
- Professional designation (CPA, CFA, or equivalent) in progress or interest in pursuing is an asset
- 1-3 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, or a related field
- Foundational financial modelling skills, with an understanding of discounted cash flow concepts and investment analysis
- Experience supporting forecasts, reporting, or business case development is an asset
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Power BI, SQL, and HFM is an asset
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a desire to understand business drivers and financial outcomes
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly present analysis to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality work
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
