Responsibilities

  • Experience & Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Control Room Operator (CRO) within EfW, biomass, or thermal power plants
  • Strong understanding of boiler operations, steam systems, and power generation processes
  • Experience supporting commissioning, start-up, or outage activities highly desirable
  • Valid safety certification (CCNSG / CSCS / SCC or equivalent)
  • Good understanding of HSEQ standards and safe plant operation
  • Skills & Competencies
  • Confident operating plant via DCS systems in a live or commissioning environment
  • Strong problem-solving ability and calm decision-making under pressure
  • Hands-on, adaptable approach with willingness to support field activities

We are seeking an experienced Control Room Operators (CRO) to join our Commissioning team on our Skelton Grange project in Leeds. Start: 26 May 2026 (latest) End: 31 August 2026 (subject to project completion) Shift Pattern: 6 days / 6 nights / 12 days off Day Rate: £500-£550 (depending on experience) Contract Type: Agency / Contractor Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Control Room Operator (CRO) with a background in Energy-from-Waste, biomass, or thermal power generation to support commissioning on a major EfW project. This role combines control room operations with hands-on commissioning support, ideal for operators experienced in plant start-up, testing, and optimisation phases.
