Your next career opportunity In this senior academic leadership role, you will guide the MD Rural Pathway and wider rural medical education programs, ensuring high-quality, community-connected training for future doctors. You will collaborate closely with regional health services, Indigenous communities and University partners to strengthen rural health outcomes across north-east Victoria. You will also have scope to advance rural and Indigenous health scholarship through research and supervision. What you will deliver: Provide strategic leadership and academic oversight of MD Rural Pathway teaching, learning and assessment across Department of Rural Health sites. Drive continuous improvement of rural medical curricula and assessment, aligning with Melbourne Medical School strategies and academic standards. Build and sustain strong relationships with regional health service partners to support high-quality clinical placements and supervision. Champion student experience and wellbeing through effective pastoral care, managing academic progress, professionalism and support needs. Foster excellence in rural health research and research training, including supervision of postgraduate, coursework and MD research projects. You may be a great fit if you: Hold a medical qualification recognisable in Australia, Fellowship of an Australian college and AHPRA registration in good standing. Bring substantial experience in medical education and leadership within clinical or academic settings, ideally including rural contexts. Demonstrate high-level engagement in professional activities at national and/or international levels. Lead diverse clinical, academic and professional teams, building a positive, inclusive and high-performance culture. Collaborate effectively with health service partners and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities on education and health initiatives. Advance research and scholarship in clinical medicine or medical education, including supervision of postgraduate and MD students. For further information, please refer to the attached PD.
